Children Are Butterflies › Butterflies Gathering – Discussion Groups and Forums › Welcome › Always In Our Hearts › A Sad Sad Day
I had the saddest day ever yesterday. I received a call just before 8am to say a beautiful two year old little boy had become a butterfly.
I arrived on the Children’s Ward at Northampton General, where the little poppet was being looked after by his parents. His mummy carried him to the car where he was placed on my lap and I cuddled him all the way back to my work.
I think that is one of the worst things I have ever had to do and I cannot begin to imagine how hard it was for his parents to entrust him into my care. Even though it is part of my job I have never felt so guilty in my life, taking him away from his mummy and daddy was just awful
If his parents become members of this site, in time I’m sure they will share their story. I know you will think of them in the forth coming days and especially when they say their finally goodbyes at his funeral service.
The world can be a very cruel and sad place.
