Welcome To Our New Trustees

November 2018

With our registration at The Charity Commission marking a new era for the charity, it was essential that we bring on board some new Trustees, to broaden the skills and experience of the team, to bring new ideas and different outlooks.

We are very pleased therefore to welcome Anne-Marie, Peter and Rachael.

Anne-Marie Noel

Anne-Marie has been with us for a long time, and we are so pleased to finally make it official. She is a school nurse and Mum to two girls, Alice and Lucy, and has previous experience as a paediatric nurse. Importantly though she has been a long term member of our Butterfly Community following the tragic loss of little Grace Amelia, so will bring a great deal of understanding and empathy to her role as Trustee.

“Being a trustee for Children Are Butterflies gives me great self worth. It is a charity very close to my heart. After my daughter died almost 10 years ago, Children Are Butterflies offered me invaluable support. In honour of my daughter, I want to give back and help other families going through the loss of a child.”

Peter Wyllie

Peter has been a friend to Children Are Butterflies, to the Trustees, and to the Butterfly Community itself for a long time now. He is a Civil Celebrant and will be a familiar face to many of the Butterfly Community local to Northampton as he has officiated at many children’s funerals. Peter has a history in sales, training and public speaking so will bring some much needed skills to the team. We have already adopted him as official spokesman for the charity, and we are sure he will be spreading the word loud and clear in this new role.

“I have worked with Children Are Butterflies for 9 years and have seen the difference that they make to bereaved parents. So it is with a huge sense of pride that I have been invited to play a proactive role in the growth of the charity.”

Rachael Markham

As a self employed bookkeeper looking after the accounts for a variety of businesses, Rachael has broad experience of accounting. As one of the businesses she looks after is Hollowells Funeral Directors, she has been close to Children Are Butterflies for many years now. We are so pleased to bring Rachael on board, as her accounts experience will be invaluable as the charity begins this next chapter.

“I was very pleased to be asked to become a Trustee of Children Are Butterflies. Having been aware of the help and support given to families at times of great distress I hope to progress the charity’s aims, particularly in financial matters.”
