Brocket Hall Charity Golf Day 2018

Children Are Butterflies Golf Day 2018

30th April 2018, Brocket Hall

With demand sadly increasing for our little charity, we are becoming more and more reliant on large organised events to enable us to continue the level of support that is clearly needed around the UK. And with the Children Are Butterflies Charity Golf Day now in its third year, we are once again humbled by the continued generosity of our friends at Brocket Hall.

The Golf Day has been part of our fundraising calendar since 2016 and has been expertly arranged by Ryan Grigg every year in memory of his son William. This year Ryan was unable to attend on the day through illness but his wife Laura stepped up and took the reins on the day and kept everything running like clockwork.

The play returned this year to the beautiful Melbourne Course at Brocket, heavy rain had threatened early on but this did not deter our players and in fact the rain held off and produced a wonderful day in the end.

After play was finished all convened in the Oak Room for a fantastic dinner laid on by Brocket Hall and the fundraising continued. The now familiar “Heads & Tails Game”, the silent auction lots, the main auction called by our good friend and MC for the evening Peter Wyllie, and all wrapped up with the final raffle.

Pockets were as usual deep, and the generosity as always was incredible.

Total Raised - £12,175

EXCLUDING Gift Aid - so once all the forms are processed this will rise.

A massive thank you to all at Brocket Hall, to Peter Wyllie as ever, and to the players who came out to play when the forecast looked so grim. And of course to Ryan Grigg for putting it all together and to Laura Grigg for stepping up and managing the day so well.

Thank You … you’re all amazing!!
