A child's funeral is thankfully rare so is therefore seldom prepared for. As Funeral Directors we can help you with all aspects of planning such an event, and as a parent I can help ensure that the process is as pain free as it can be and tailored to your wishes. As with many other Funeral Directors we do not charge professional fees for a child’s funeral (up to age 15), and can act on your behalf to ensure any other charges are kept to a minimum. For those who may still struggle to cover the remaining costs the Charity may be able to help you. Even if you are out of the area or using another Funeral Director, we can still help you. Just download an application form and ask your Funeral Director to endorse it.

For many however, the funeral is just the start of the process, and that is I think the strength of Butterflies. I am in regular contact with families who I have helped in the past, we have held events where families can gather and share experiences and make contact with people in similar situations. This web site I hope will be used as another resource, for support in the forum “Butterflies Gathering”, and remembrance in the “Garden of Butterflies”. As Funeral Directors we can help by finding you bereavement counselling or assistance with the practicalities, but I am hoping that the Butterflies community will provide you with more ongoing support and care for as long as you need it - you are not alone.
